However, societies needed central governments to protect the sanctity of these currencies. Governments needed armies to protect these currencies, and generals needed money to feed and house soldiers.
Governments then needed to generate tax revenue to pay for armies. Finally, governments installed markets to allow soldiers and families to spend their income on items while generating tax revenues for the governments. The moral of the story is that spending was always part of the government's and society's plan to keep pulling tax revenue from you. You never stood a chance. Now it's time to fight back.
